Ice Climbing and Skiing (kinda) in Pont Rouge and Gaspésie! - March 2023

Spring break of 2023, myself, Jihan, Fiona, and Patrick recieved the MOC adventure grant of $500 to take a roadtrip to Gaspésie, ice climbing and skiing along the way. I'm gonna make this one quick because I am getting impatient and want to start writing about things that are actually going on right now (I'm writing this post ~3 months after this trip)!

We began bright and early and left Montreal for Pont Rouge, home to some of the best mixed climbing in the country.

My attempt at ski touring in the Chic Chocs (I had never skiied before, and my boots were so small that I later developed ganglionic cysts on me toes. I came down the same way I went up, skiing down the face didn't seem like it would bode well for me)

The tropical waters of Eastern Quebec were simply too tempting. Notice the axe in front of me - knowledge of ice climbing techniques can indeed be useful!
